About

Myself driving on hole 4 at Centennial Park Disc Golf Course during Lunacy V.

Disc Golf, for me, began in 2006 when I was lucky enough to be part of the team to open Play it Again Sports Longmont. As we got built our inventory, Disc Golf was quickly added to the shelves and I figured if I'm going to help "frolfers" who come into the store I had better know what I'm talking about.

I bought my first two discs, a Star Teerex driver and a DX Hydra (neither of which are very beginner friendly) and headed to the course.  So there I was, first tee pad at Loo Miller park with two brand new discs. With all power and no control I threw HUGE hyzers that went 200 feet straight up, but only 50 feet forward. Later in the round a kid who couldn't have been half my weight and a quarter of my strength caught up to me and asked if he could play through. After giving him the green light, he proceeded to through a perfectly straight 350 foot drive that parked almost right underneath the basket. It was this moment when I was hooked. I realized that strength had little to do with success, this was a game of finesse, patience and skill.

My CTP Record (best drive ever) on hole 6 at Phantom Falls Disc Golf Course in Pine, CO.
So I kept with it. Watching this sport explode over the past years has been amazing. For me Disc Golf started out as an amusement but quickly evolved into a hobby, then to an addiction and now a passion (not that it's any less of an addiction).

I've realized that Disc Golf helps clean up our city parks, provides an affordable, fun reason to be active outdoors and brings people together. The value of the sport is clear and it is my hope that I can help grow Disc Golf through local support of my local clubs and adding some hand crafted customization! I hope you'll join me in this mission and my ears are always open to new helpful ideas!
